Why it’s its own job
The building is the job, not the load. A room has maybe a van-load in it, but getting to it means a communal hall, a shared staircase, other people’s doors and frequently a fire door that must not be propped.
Everything you carry past belongs to somebody else. Scuffs in a shared hall come out of a deposit — usually a joint one — and the people whose walls they are did not agree to any of this.
Your housemates did not choose this day. A stairwell full of boxes when somebody is trying to get to work is how a straightforward move becomes an argument, so working promptly is a courtesy rather than a service level.
There is often a deposit at stake and a check-out coming. Photographs of the room empty are worth having, and they cost nothing to take.
